Huxley – Co-Founder, Triton Heating and Cooling Ltd.
Huxley brings a lifetime of hands-on mechanical experience and a deep understanding of both traditional and modern heating systems. He began his career at age 14, working in his family’s oilfield service company in Southern Alberta, where he gained early experience in welding, pipelining, and pipefitting.
After moving to Victoria in 2008, he completed a degree in economics at the University of Victoria while also apprenticing as a steamfitter through the Saskatchewan piping union. His work on large industrial projects, including potash mills, oil refineries, and power plants, laid the foundation for his Red Seal certifications in Steamfitting and Gasfitting, which he earned in 2016.
In 2017, Huxley founded Top Mechanical Services Ltd., focusing on gas-fired heating solutions in residential and commercial spaces. Recognizing the growing demand for energy-efficient systems, he teamed up with Jacob in 2022 to launch Triton Heating and Cooling Ltd. Together, they’ve built a company that delivers full-scope HVAC services including gas, refrigeration, electrical, sheet metal, and ventilation systems.
Huxley is passionate about delivering quality craftsmanship and practical, energy-smart solutions. Whether it’s a custom retrofit in a family home or a large-scale commercial build, his focus is on delivering results that are safe, reliable, and built to last.
Outside of work, Huxley enjoys gardening with his wife, adventuring with their son and dog, snowboarding in the winter, and making the most of island life.
Jacob – Co-Founder, Triton Heating and Cooling Ltd.
Jacob is a certified Red Seal refrigeration and HVAC mechanic with over 16 years of industry experience, including a decade running his own business. His background spans residential, commercial, industrial, and marine systems, often in complex or remote environments where precision and creative problem-solving are essential.
Jacob takes a hands-on approach to every project and enjoys the technical challenge of designing systems that are both efficient and dependable. His attention to detail, combined with a deep understanding of HVAC technologies, ensures each job is done right the first time.
Triton Heating and Cooling Ltd. was born from a successful collaboration between Jacob and Huxley on a large-scale commercial project. By combining their strengths, they created a company that now offers nearly every HVAC service under one roof, from high-efficiency ductless installs to full mechanical ventilation and heating system design.
Jacob is driven by a passion for delivering consistent, high-quality service. Whether working with a homeowner or coordinating a multi-phase commercial installation, his goal is the same: provide practical, long-lasting solutions that clients can count on.
When he’s not working, Jacob is usually outside, exploring the coast, the mountains, or anywhere off the beaten path.
